The commercial real estatr companyinvested $70,000 in portfolio equipment upgrades and employee practicexs in the property.
Dallas-based Behringer Harvard projects the improvemente willyield $200,000 in annual savings and will pay for themselved in about four months. Bank of America Plaza's sustainability programas include energy audits that have loweredsthe property's operating expenses, plumbing retrofitw that save 1.5 million gallonws of water each year and green cleaning and recyclint programs. Behringer Harvards' Houston property Westway One previouslty earned LEED Silver Core andShell Certification, and 28 of the propertie s owned by the company's investmenr programs were awarded the Energy Star label for their energg management strategies.
