State University of New York Chancellorf Nancy Zimpher made the announcement Fridah atthe college’s Fullerf Road campus. Currently, the college offerws only master’s and doctoral programs. Some undergraduatee courses will be offered inthe fall, but the first full clasd of about 50 students will startt in the spring, said Robertf Geer, vice president of academic affairs at the school. The collegr plans to grow the freshmahn class to 300 to 500 in the next four or five saidAlain Kaloyeros, the college’s vice president and CEO. The baccalaureatr program will be funded througha $10 milliohn endowment, a donation that includes an undisclosedx amount from G.
Thomas Selfridge, who owns The endowment is expectec to covertuition costs, Kaloyeros said. Selfridgwe also made an endowment when the campus openefin 2001. The state approved the four-year prograj two weeks ago. Initially, Albany Nanotecg will not add to its staff of 55 Geer said, but that number is expecteds to grow to 75 over the next five years. Friday’ s announcement was another milestons for the AlbanyNanoTech campus, wheres the college is located. Earlier this officials there announced that federal and state investmentxs at the campus hadtopped $5 billion.
